The CGC green label on a Hulk 181. A sight of horror for many a collector. The dreaded “Missing marvel value stamp” Line on the label. It’s very common, and not just with this book. So what the heck is it?
The marvel value stamp was a small “Stamp” on one of the ad/bullpen pages in marvel books in the 70s. It featured a marvel character and encouraged the reader to cut it out and collect them all. At the time, kids did just that and defiled what was seemingly a random comic back then, which some consider a holy grail of bronze age comic collecting now.
Fair market values show a decreasing price differential between Copies of this first appearance with and without the value stamp, as some collectors seem to not care, as long as they can get their hands on a hulk 181.
