Well, it happened. We have been waiting for the day to come when a book beats out Action Comics 1 for the most valuable comic in the world.
A few years back a CGC graded copy of Action Comics 1 graded at 8.5 sold for $3,250,000, shocking people at the mere idea that some paper could sell for such an amount. It has always been the general consensus that Action 1 is the holy grail of all comics. There are 100-ish in known existence, and it kicked off comics as we know them today! But along came a spider.
At 9.6, this copy of Amazing Fantasy 15 is tied for the highest-graded copy (Besides a restored 9.8, which I will talk about in a later post.) There are 3 other 9.6’s other than this one, so I am eager to see if those come to auction soon to break even more records!
